Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation & Education Center

Tamarack specializes in the rescue, treatment and release of injured, orphaned and sick wildlife. Additionally,Tamarack provides public education programs and materials on the behavior, feeding habits, and natural habitats of many of Pennsylvania’s species of wildlife.

The injured, orphaned, and sick wildlife depend entirely upon the donations of generous people like you for their second chance at life. We thank those who have assisted in the lives of each animal who has passed through our doors, as well as those who will help them in the future.
Tamarack Wildlife Rehabilitation and Education Center is a not-for-profit 501(c)(3)corporation.

How You Can Help

There are a variety of ways you can support Tamarack’s efforts to rehabilitate injured wildlife and educate the public about the many wonderful creatures with whom we share the planet:

Financial:
  • Sponsor one of our exciting education birds for just $25 per year.
  • Book an educational program for school-organization.
  • Remember Tamarack in memory of a loved one.
  • Become a member.
  • Make a monetary donation in the amount of your choice—no contribution is too small.
  • Organize a fundraiser and make Tamarack the beneficiary.
  • Collect aluminum cans and donate proceeds to the center.
    Volunteer
Tamarack welcomes the talents and gifts of people in a broad spectrum of ways:
    • Take the First Responders course and be a wildlife dispatcher.
    • Join other volunteers and staff in the weekly care of the education birds and wildlife in treatment.
    • Assist staff in presenting education programs.
    • Offer skills in plumbing or carpentry on special projects.
    In-kind Donations
    Many supplies are still needed:
    • Duct tape
    • Boxes, computer sized
    • Bleach
    • Paper towels
    • Pillow cases, flat sheets
    • Wood shavings
    • Gift certificates, phone cards
    • Digital Camera
    • Frozen wild caught fish
    • Stamps
    Think outside the box
Because Tamarack is a unique place, it offers unique ways to help. Here are a few:
    • Live minnows—we often treat birds that require live fish, but these are extremely expensive to purchase. Donated minnows are a huge help.
    • Frozen fish and venison for birds of prey. Do you have a freezer full of last year’s crappie or deer steaks? Give it to Tamarack!
